About Us

The International Association for Project Management in Israel

The association is a non-profit organization. Our vision is to promot project management in the world and in Israel in particular, with the help of the extensive network of members of the global IPMA organization and the participation of local government entities, private organizations and individuals interested in personal development on the subject.

Leading the professionalism in project management in Israel

Professional project management is a key to the success of any venture, whether it is national infrastructure projects, essential public buildings or complex business initiatives. However, in Israel there is still a big gap when it comes to the level of professionalism and the proper management of projects in general and construction and infrastructure projects in particular.

The Israeli legislation lacks a clear definition of the role of the project manager and the resulting requirements regarding his training and certification. This situation contributes to a lack of professional knowledge and many failures in the field. Many project managers lack formal training in project management or this training was partial and not in-depth. As a result, the professional level and implementation of the advanced methods of project management is significantly lower compared to other industrial sectors and compared to other developed countries.

This reality leads to expensive mistakes, deviations in schedules and huge financial expenses, both in private projects and in national public projects. This affects the quality of the products and the ability to carry out the projects efficiently and economically.

The goal of the association is to fill the existing void and lead to a fundamental change in the way projects are managed in the State of Israel. To this end, we will work to implement clear definitions and certification regulations for the position of project manager and promote study programs and professional training at the highest level in this field.

Only in this way can we guarantee that projects will be carried out by qualified professionals, in an informed manner and at the highest level.

The founders of the association are members of private organizations that have been involved in project management for decades, senior and veteran academic members who have researched the subject and teach at various colleges and universities, and young students.
